It is quite simply the dedicated team who are passionate about building powerful, reliable, and user-friendly subsea inspection and integrity software. Everything we do has to add value for our customers. We gauge our success on delivery, results, and the outcomes they see. By walking in our customers’ shoes, we anticipate their needs and guide decisions, product development, and support.

Our core team comprises a diverse group of individuals with complementary skills and backgrounds. Imagine a team of highly skilled software engineers proficient in a variety of coding languages and frameworks, adept at building robust back-end systems and crafting engaging user experiences on the front end. Guiding them is our product management team, translating business and operational needs into precise technical requirements, ensuring our software perfectly aligns with our customers’ needs.

CHIEF Software Engineering OFFICER

Michael Topp

Michael brings over 14 years of experience in software engineering, primarily within the Aker group. He began his career at Aker Solutions, contributing to in-house software critical to delivering Oil & Gas MMO projects globally whilst gaining integrity knowledge and experience developing and maintaining Coabis. Throughout his career, he has gained valuable international experience, collaborating with customers and developers from around the world. Michael aligns our engineering initiatives with the company’s vision, ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions that enhance our overall product offering. He is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement while driving the adoption of best practices across his team. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with First Class Honours in Computing for Internet and Multimedia from RGU Aberdeen.

Kevin Kavanagh

As Head of Technology, Kevin is passionate about elevating Elementz to the forefront of technical excellence and ensuring we and our customers are ready for the future. With over 20 years of experience in high paced Tech environments, he has played a pivotal role in the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology across a diverse range of sectors, spanning Education, Clinical and Energy. Kevin’s wealth of experience and diverse knowledge enable him to lead by example, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within our organisation. He holds a Master of Science in Information and Technology, Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biochemistry with Immunology, and a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.

Sue Stevens

Sue, Head of Commercial at Elementz, heads up all aspects of Elementz’ customer performance, including account management and our overall G2M strategy. She has more than 25 years of experience in Sales Management and Business Development roles both in the UK and internationally. Sue has worked in areas such as Condition Monitoring, Asset Reliability and Integrity Management and brings a depth of understanding of the business drivers and challenges faced in a modern operating environment. With her team, she ensures a great experience with Elementz, from the very first commercial engagement to ongoing development and expansion.

Wilma Massie

Wilma brings 19 years of experience in developing and supporting Integrity and Inspection Software. In her role, Wilma leads the team in optimising operational efficiency and enhancing customer support. Previously, Wilma served as Customer Engineering Manager at Aize, where she was responsible for managing migrations from Coabis to Integrity Elementz. Her responsibilities include onboarding customers, overseeing mobilisations, providing training, and delivering ongoing support. Wilma and her team are relentlessly focused on fostering strong customer relations and are always willing to go the extra mile to deliver – ensuring our customers have a positive experience. Wilma holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computing for Internet and Multimedia from RGU Aberdeen.

Caroline Crosbee

With over 25 years of dedicated experience in business and commercial administration, Caroline Crosbee excels in optimising customer relations and process management. Her extensive career has been marked by a deep understanding of data analytics, emphasising the transformative power of data systems in enhancing work processes. Caroline’s academic background includes a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Robert Gordon University and a postgraduate certificate in Information Technology from the University of Aberdeen. This combination of practical expertise and academic excellence underpins her strategic approach to process and administration within Elementz.

Lead Software Engineer

Ed Shearer

Ed is a Lead Software Engineer with over a decade of experience delivering robust, scalable solutions across the software development lifecycle. A graduate of Robert Gordon University with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science, Ed plays a key role in designing and building the digital backbone of Elementz’s Blue Digital Ecosystem. At the heart of his work is the development of efficient, scalable APIs that power data integration and interoperability across subsea operations. His expertise ensures that high-quality, standardised data flows securely between systems, enabling AI-driven insights, automation, and predictive analytics that are transforming asset integrity management. Ed collaborates closely with domain experts to build cloud-native architectures that support decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term digital sustainability. His commitment to clean code, performance optimisation, and future-ready systems underpins Elementz’s ability to scale and adapt in a rapidly evolving energy landscape.

MATT CHRISTIE

Matt is a Lead Software Engineer with strong full-stack expertise and an instinct for innovation. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Computing: Application Software Development from Robert Gordon University and has built a career defined by technical leadership and product evolution. Starting at Aker Solutions, he contributed to developing Coabis Elements, laying the groundwork for what became Elementz. His deep involvement from inception to scale shaped his understanding of the platform’s architecture, making him a key figure in steering its technical direction. Curious about emerging web and cloud technologies, Matt is passionate about enhancing DVR system integrations to optimise subsea data capture. His forward-looking approach enables scalable engineering practices suited to complex system demands. Known for his hands-on mindset and collaborative ethos, Matt engineers resilient solutions while fostering a culture of innovation that advances Elementz’s digital leadership.

Neha Bahukhandi

Neha Bahukhandi is a Lead Software Engineer at Elementz where she spearheads backend architecture and development. With deep expertise in scalable, secure systems and a meticulous approach to clean code and API integration, Neha enables seamless data flow across platforms, empowering teams to harness automation, AI-driven insights and predictive analytics. Neha is a BTech graduate in Computer Science from India, she began her career in healthcare tech, building high-availability, compliance-driven systems. Neha has played a pivotal role in leading backend transformations that support the adoption of emerging technologies in subsea operations. Beyond engineering, Neha is a champion of inclusive culture and mental health, serving as a trained Mental Health Ambassador and mentor to young developers.

Jason Brown

With over 25 years of experience spanning the Energy, Software, and Digital Sectors, Jason serves as the CEO of Elementz. Throughout his career, he has been a driving force behind digitalisation initiatives aimed at optimising and transforming operations offshore, onshore, and subsea. Jason has led international teams in areas such as Asset Integrity Management, Operations, and Maintenance and has been working with a software portfolio since 2012. His most recent role was as Senior Vice President at Aize, where he was responsible for managing the company’s Global Strategic Accounts. Jason holds a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.

Jarle Skrebergene

Jarle Skrebergene is CEO of Aize, an industrial software company established by Aker in 2020. Under Skrebergene’s leadership, Aize has grown to 200 employees focusing on software product for the oil and gas industry and renewable energy sector, with a broad international customer portfolio.

Skrebergene joined Aize from Cognite, where he held the roles of Vice President of Customer Success, EPC, and OEM Lead. He has also worked for Deloitte and Kongsberg Digital, where he was notably part of the management team of Kongsberg Digital.

He has a master’s degree in Industrial Economics and Technology Management from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Corporate Finance from the University of California San Diego.

CAMILLA LEON

Camilla Leon holds the role as VP Subsea in Aker BP.

Leon brings over 20 years of experience from the oil and gas industry. Throughout her career, she has held several leadership positions in operational management onshore and offshore in the UK and Norway. She has also held positions within HSEQ, early-phase project development, including technology and digital development, and as Subsea Alliance Manager for the project alliance between OneSubsea, Subsea 7, and Aker BP.

She was a member of ONS Innovation Committee for 3 periods.

Leon holds a master’s degree in reservoir engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Stavanger.
