Integrity Elementz was the first external asset management system to be utilised in Fugro’s Aberdeen ROC. Fugro has integrated advanced digital tools into its subsea inspection workflows, reducing offshore exposure, cutting carbon emissions, and improving efficiency for clients operating across multiple North Sea assets.
This partnership builds on a legacy that spans almost two decades and continues to evolve as both companies collaborate on projects in the UK and internationally.
Challenges in Subsea Asset Integrity Management.
Fugro and Elementz understood that a simulated offshore environment within Fugro’s ROC was the perfect setting to robustly test a next-generation digital platform capable of supporting multi-asset integrity management projects in real-time.
Traditionally, these operations required personnel to be mobilised offshore for extended periods to install, test, acquire and process inspection data. This approach came with challenges, including:
- Safety risks and logistical demands of offshore working
- Inconsistent communication links between vessels and onshore teams
- Time delays and inefficiencies in reporting and decision-making.
Fugro has been working with Elementz to enhance how integrity data is managed, analysed, and delivered from its Aberdeen ROC.
Our Solution: Transforming Subsea Integrity with Integrity Elementz.
Working together, Fugro and Elementz established and tested an end-to-end digital workflow that combined an innovative remote operations environment and intelligent integrity management software to transform how subsea projects are managed.
- Integration and testing: Elementz worked directly with Fugro’s ROC and Client Deliverables teams to adapt Integrity Elementz in line with the project’s technical and operational requirements
- Remote collaboration: Through the ROC, Fugro could bring Elementz engineers and clients together, face to face or online, to monitor system performance, make real-time adjustments, and resolve issues without vessel downtime or need for vessel visits and offshore trips
- Global scalability: Thanks to the approach developed in Aberdeen, similar digital integrity management methods are now being replicated across Fugro’s worldwide network of Remote Operations Centres.
Customer Driven Management Software.
Fugro has a long-standing history with the Elementz team, dating back to the days of the Coabis system (Integrity Elementz’s predecessor) in 2006. That heritage provided a strong foundation for collaboration when Integrity Elementz platform was launched in 2024. The two companies began working together on one of the first multi-asset integrity management projects in the UK North Sea, spanning four fields, 10 platforms, and multiple wells over approximately 100 days of offshore activity.
The Aberdeen ROC played a central role, enabling Fugro to test, configure, and run Integrity Elementz in a live environment before full offshore deployment. Elementz provided set-up support on the vessels and continued technical assistance throughout the campaign to ensure smooth performance and data delivery.
