Global Underwater Hub (GUH)
Neil Gordon is Chief Executive Officer of the Global Underwater Hub (GUH), the UK’s leading industry development body for the subsea and underwater sectors.
With more than 35 years’ experience, Neil began his career as a commercial diver before progressing into senior commercial and executive roles, leading international subsea business development across India, Australia, the Middle East and Brazil.
Appointed Chief Executive of Subsea UK in 2011, he led its transformation into the Global Underwater Hub in 2021, creating a UK-wide organisation focused on strengthening and growing the underwater supply chain.
Neil works closely with government, industry and academia to shape policy, investment and capability development across offshore energy, renewables, defence, marine science and advanced underwater technologies. Widely recognised as an industry champion and strategic thought leader, he combines operational experience with a strong focus on ensuring the UK’s subsea and underwater industries remain competitive, investable and globally relevant.

Sepi Golzari-Munro is a Scottish presenter, editorial filmmaker and strategic adviser known for turning complex ideas into compelling conversations, and for getting to the heart of what really matters.
Before moving fully into broadcasting and storytelling, she led a national energy and climate think tank, advised investors and businesses on public policy, innovation and strategic communications, and worked across UK Government in national and international affairs.
Today, much of her work is focused on Scotland’s economy and the people, investments and ideas shaping its future, particularly across entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, investment, energy, infrastructure and nationhood.
She is the founder of Public Knowledge, a presenter-led film and storytelling studio that helps organisations make complex and consequential work visible, understood and trusted.
At the heart of all her work is the same proposition: ask better questions, uncover what really matters and make the story impossible to overlook.
Sepi is based in Edinburgh and works throughout Scotland, the UK and internationally.

With over 25 years of experience spanning the Energy, Software, and Digital Sectors, Jason serves as the CEO of Elementz.
Throughout his career, he has been a driving force behind digitalisation initiatives aimed at optimising and transforming operations offshore, onshore, and subsea.
Jason has led international teams in areas such as Asset Integrity Management, Operations, and Maintenance and has been working with a software portfolio since 2012.
His most recent role was as Senior Vice President at Aize, where he was responsible for managing the company’s Global Strategic Accounts. Jason holds a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.
Besmir Kajolli is an experienced energy industry leader with
over 15 years of experience spanning projects, operations, technology, and digital transformation within the oil and gas sector.
He holds a Master’s degree in Subsea Technology and currently serves as Subsea Transformation Manager at Aker BP.
Throughout his career, he has led operational improvement,
technology adoption, and business transformation initiatives across
organisations.
He is particularly passionate about the opportunities that digital transformation, data, and AI present for enhancing operational performance, driving innovation, and creating business value.
Damian Ling is the Subsea Innovation Manager for Chevron, where he leads the development and deployment of advanced technologies that enhance the safety, efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of offshore energy operations. Based in Houston, he is responsible for a global portfolio of innovation programs spanning subsea systems, marine robotics, offshore autonomy, condition monitoring, subsea power and distribution, flow assurance, and digital solutions supporting Chevron’s offshore business.
With more than a decade at Chevron, Damian works at the intersection of technology, operations, and business strategy, helping accelerate the adoption of emerging digital capabilities that deliver tangible value across the energy value chain. He collaborates extensively with industry operators, technology providers, research institutions, startups, and consortiums to identify, mature, and scale transformative solutions.
Damian currently leads strategic initiatives focused on digitalisation, remote operations, intelligent asset management, and the integration of data-driven technologies within offshore ecosystems. He is also actively involved in industry collaboration programs such as International Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) and The Technology Management Network (TMN) that advance innovation across the global energy sector, helping bridge traditional operational disciplines with emerging digital capabilities.
Sandra Ripley is Head of Business Development & Partnerships at The Data Lab, leading commercial strategy, strategic partnerships and ecosystem engagement to accelerate data and AI adoption across Scotland.
She works with industry, government and academia to build high-impact collaborations, strengthen national programmes and champion innovation.
Sandra represents The Data Lab across Scotland’s data and AI community through panel contributions, strategic engagements and ecosystem initiatives.
Tom Brian is a Principal Product Manager at Aize, specialising in building digital twin visualisation that enable offshore, subsea, and onshore operators to optimise maintenance and integrity planning.
With over 15 years of industry experience – including a decade managing offshore drilling operations – he brings a practical field perspective to digital asset management.
Prior to Aize, Tom led product initiatives for TotalEnergies in Paris, driving digital transformation across global drilling teams.
Today, his work focuses on unlocking value through asset visualisation and product-led growth to streamline engineering workflows and reduce OPEX. Based in Aberdeen, Scotland, Tom has a background in HPHT drilling engineering and digital product management.
Michael brings over 14 years of experience in software engineering, primarily within the Aker group. He began his career at Aker Solutions, contributing to in-house software critical to delivering Oil & Gas MMO projects globally whilst gaining integrity knowledge and experience developing and maintaining Coabis.
Throughout his career, he has gained valuable international experience, collaborating with customers and developers from around the world.
Michael aligns our engineering initiatives with the company’s vision, ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions that enhance our overall product offering. He is dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement while driving the adoption of best practices across his team. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with First Class Honours in Computing for Internet and Multimedia from RGU Aberdeen.
With 20 years of experience across SaaS, digital, and technology-led businesses, Lewis serves as Chief Growth Officer at Elementz.
He leads the company’s commercial growth strategy, supporting expansion across markets and into new industry verticals as the business continues to scale.
Lewis brings extensive international experience across regulated industries, with a strong background in go-to-market strategy, product development and digital transformation. Throughout his career, he has supported both high-growth SaaS organisations and established enterprises to build scalable commercial models and deliver long-term customer value.
Stephen McKeown is a subsea engineering leader with more than 20 years of experience in the offshore energy industry. As a Subsea Chief, he provides technical leadership across the design, installation, operation, and reliability of subsea production systems for major deepwater developments worldwide.
Stephen has led multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex projects spanning subsea hardware, controls, pipelines, umbilicals, integrity management, and emerging technologies.
He is actively involved in industry collaboration and standards development, working with operators, contractors, and equipment suppliers to improve performance, reliability, and safety across the subsea sector. Based in Houston, Texas, he is passionate about developing technical talent, advancing subsea technology, and helping the industry solve complex engineering challenges.
Camilla Leon holds the role as VP Subsea in Aker BP. Leon brings over 20 years of experience from the oil and gas industry. Throughout her career, she has held several leadership positions in operational management onshore and offshore in the UK and Norway. She has also held positions within HSEQ, early-phase project development, including technology and digital development, and as Subsea Alliance Manager for the project alliance between OneSubsea, Subsea 7, and Aker BP. She was a member of ONS Innovation Committee for 3 periods. Leon holds a master’s degree in reservoir engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Stavanger.
Josh Erratt is Technical Manager for Spatial Engineering at DeepOcean, leading the company’s global Subsea 3D Scanning capability. He specialises in subsea digital workflows, advanced perception technologies, and the integration of optical, acoustic, SLAM, and cloud-based systems to deliver high-quality data and enable more efficient offshore operations.
With over a decade of experience in hydrography and subsea surveys, Josh has worked on more than 200 projects across inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR), construction, and survey operations. His focus is on reducing offshore exposure while improving engineering outcomes through photogrammetry, spatial data management, and digital workflows.
Having completed over 50 offshore rotations, he brings extensive operational experience and has supported the deployment of emerging technologies, including SLAM, subsea laser scanning, and AI-assisted data interpretation. Josh is currently pursuing Chartered Marine Technologist status through IMarEST, with a focus on autonomy, AI, and next-generation subsea inspection.
Laure Mora is an energy industry professional, with more than 20 years experience. Her career started as an engineer in the Oil and Gas industry, in mainly operations engineering and commercial roles. She expanded her career to waste heat recovery and geothermal in 2019 and subsequently worked in green hydrogen.
Using her cross-energy knowledge, she led an energy start-up programme at the Net Zero Technology Centre before joining Offshore Energies UK in 2024 as Business Growth & Transformation Manager. In this role, she heads the various OEUK data and digital groups and organises the yearly OEUK Data and Digital Conference.
She is passionate about the proper implementation and use of digital tools across the whole energy industry to improve project delivery.
Alex Joseph has been working on the digital side of Oil & Gas for over 15 years, after studying a BSc in Computing at Edinburgh Napier University and an MBA in O&G Management at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
He has spent most of his career covering onshore and offshore sites primarily in EMEA, developing and implementing, digital projects and strategies.
Many of the projects required working closely with operations, to determine and achieve tangible business value from digital autonomy and a robust ecosystem.
Currently, Alex is working within the Digital Operations team at Aker BP, leading the Subsea Digital Programme.
Jennifer Johnston is a Vice President of Business Development for Aker Solutions’ New Energies segment, covering offshore wind, carbon capture and Entr – Aker Solutions’ dedicated consultancy arm.
With more than 18 years of experience, Jennifer has held a number of management positions within the energy industry, specialising in tendering, project management and customer success.
Jennifer holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Management Studies from the University of Aberdeen and is a Chartered Project Professional with the Association for Project Management.
Daniel Weil CEng FRAeS is Managing Director of TICQ Ltd, a consultancy focused on driving technology through innovation and cultural change across the Defence sector.
He spent 26 years in the Royal Navy, leading engineering teams in demanding operational environments and delivering change programmes that challenged old habits and brought new technology to the frontline. That experience shapes how he works today: building bridges between military users, SMEs and global tech accelerators.
As UK Co-Director for the London Tech Bridge, he partnered with the U.S. Navy to scout emerging dual-use technologies and grow networks that support Britain’s prosperity agenda.
Through TICQ, he now helps businesses navigate Defence acquisition supporting them on the journey of moving from product thinking to a frontline-ready capability.
Hugh is an experienced Business Development Manager who spent many years in the oil and gas supply chain.
He transitioned across to offshore renewables in 2018 to take up the role of Regional Partnership Manager for ORE Catapult. The role involves engagement with Supply Chain, Academia and Offshore Wind Developers with the aim of accelerating the creation and Growth of UK companies in the offshore renewables sector.
Whilst the first employee north of Glasgow, ORE Catapult has now 21 employees in Aberdeen and opened up the Floating Offshore Wind Innovation Centre for the test and qualification of critical components for floating offshore wind.
Steve Fernie is Strategy & Policy Director at Global Underwater Hub, responsible for market intelligence and strategy in support of products, services and expertise which can be transferred across numerous underwater markets.
Steve has responsibility for GUH’s strategic programmes, a series of 12 focus areas designed to connect end-user groups, product groupings and strategic sector focuses where the experience, expertise and innovation of the supply chain is best placed to succeed across a number of underwater markets. These programmes are encapsulated in the convening of industry forums, guidance and wider stakeholder, enterprise and Government engagement in championing the world-class capability of the underwater supply chain, by industry-for industry.
Joanna Petrie is a Product Manager at Elementz, working on the development of Integrity Elementz, the subsea asset integrity software platform, including its new modular structure and functionality designed to meet the growing needs of clients across the oil and gas, renewables, power and utilities, telecommunications, and defence industries.
With a background in UX and customer-facing roles within B2B SaaS, Joanna began her career in customer support, working closely with engineers using software across offshore energy projects. Being close to users and understanding their day-to-day challenges sparked her interest in how products could work better for the people who rely on them.
A team player and naturally curious, Joanna is passionate about asking the right questions, finding effective solutions to complex technology challenges, and building products that genuinely help the people who use them.
Tom Clarke is Product Manager at Elementz and has played a key role in the evolution of the Integrity Elementz platform from its earliest development.
Tom’s involvement with the technology began at Aker Solutions, where he worked as Coabis Project Coordinator, supporting the development the precursor to today’s Integrity Elementz platform. From the early stages of the software’s development through its progression into an established integrity management solution, Tom has been closely involved in shaping how the technology works and how it meets the needs of the industry.
He continued this journey through roles at Aize, working across software development, functional architecture and product management, before joining Elementz in 2024. Tom works closely with customers, technical teams and the wider Elementz team to continue developing Integrity Elementz and ensure the platform evolves alongside the changing needs of the subsea industry.
